Episode 1: From Passion to Business – The Story Behind River Tackle.
Phi Chan Sokna, the founder and owner of River Tackle, has turned a lifelong passion into a thriving business. Operating since 2011, River Tackle has been serving Cambodia’s fishing community for over 14 years with a wide range of fish-catching equipment.
Before launching the business, Sokna was an avid fishing enthusiast. “I was really into fish-catching,” he shared. “But back then, it was hard to find good equipment. Supplies were limited, and we could only buy in bulk.”
Seeing a clear gap in the market, Sokna decided to take action. His idea was simple but impactful—open a store that offers high-quality fishing gear and import a broader selection to meet growing demand. That vision led to the creation of River Tackle, a one-stop shop for fishing lovers across the country.
What started from a personal hobby has since grown into a business that supports and equips others with the tools they need to enjoy fishing just as much.
